Currently, there are three rings that I hold dear, and I’d like to share the stories behind them. I’d like to make it clear, though, that this is not about bragging about my possessions. You’ll understand the reason I’m sharing this by the end of this post 🙂
SWEET 17
My Mumi gave me this ring as a present on my 17th birthday. Every time I look at it, I remember my teenage self, who was so eager to finish her studies. She was very “naning” back then, except for those ligoy2x moments spent in Bmash—the Internet café I used to hang out in while playing online games. Hihi.
CLASS RING
When I graduated from college, Pupi made sure I had a class ring. It was his gift for me for finishing my studies. I was so excited to face the real world—to learn and to earn. Lol.
ENGAGEMENT RING
After more than three years in a relationship, my Prince Charming asked me to marry him and placed this ring on my finger. My first and last boyfriend will soon become my husband! I am getting married! Woah!
When I look at these, I don’t just see three round objects with shiny surfaces. I see the incomparable worth of waiting for God’s perfect timing.
You see, my parents told me to finish my studies before entering into a relationship, so I started praying while I was still in high school. I prayed that God would prepare my prince while He was also preparing me to meet him in His perfect time. I was never bored in the waiting season because I was busy and excited preparing myself to meet him. I kept myself active in God’s kingdom. I didn’t know when, where, or how I would meet my prince. All I knew was that we would meet someday.
At the age of 21, I met a silent, mysterious, fine young man. I had no idea that he would become my boyfriend two years later—and that a few months from now, he would become my lifetime partner. God wrote our love story, and it completely swept us off our feet.
Girls, just like Snow White, who was asleep until her prince came to wake her up—rest in God’s love and wait. When the right time comes, your prince will wake you up in His perfect timing.
God is surely preparing someone for you, so be patient. Don’t rush; otherwise, you might end up kissing a frog instead of a prince 😉
Here’s a verse I’d like to leave in this post: Ecclesiastes 3:11
Can you guess what the fourth ring is? You’ll find out soon! Xoxo
ALL GLORY TO GOD ALONE!
