It’s quite hard to put a crying baby to sleep, but after all the “concerts and circus,” finally, Dabdab was in dreamland. Yey! It was such a relief.
However, there was a little problem. He fell asleep near the corner of the bed, though he had pillows on both sides. As a mom, I was a bit worried that he might fall (he sleeps like the long hand of a clock). Thus, I thought of moving him to the center of the bed.
But wait a minute… if I move him to the center, he will probably wake up and scream as if he’s in Switchfoot’s concert. What should I do?
Oh well, safety first. It’s better to be safe than forever sorry. So I moved my little cherub to the center, and as expected, he woke up. Thankfully, he didn’t scream. He cried a little, though.
While cuddling him, these words zoomed into my head: I would rather wake you up than let you fall.
Dear friends, sometimes we are too caught up in our dreams in life—ambitions that seem out of control. We get too busy chasing after them to the extent that we forget the One who can make our dreams into reality. Sometimes, we need a wake-up call so we will not fall off the cliff that is just around the corner.
He would rather let you scream temporarily than let you fall and make you forever regret your decisions in life. That is how much He loves you.
Wake-up calls are never sweet nor easy. Do not wait for a wake-up call. Choose to stay awake in Him.
Let me quote this: There is no safer place in the world than to be at the center of God’s will.
Have a blessed Sunday.
