God’s Love in the Ordinary Moments

I was planning to wake up late like I usually do, but I was forced to open my eyes much earlier than planned since the baby cried so loudly and I had to soothe him. Then, my feet led me to take an early morning walk to meditate on God’s Word.

While walking under the swaying trees and listening to a worship song, I felt the wind touch my skin as if I were being embraced by God’s love — a love so strong yet so gentle.

Sometimes, God’s love in everyday life reveals itself through the simplest moments—the warmth of the sun, the gentle touch of the wind, a quiet morning, or something as small as a leaf falling in front of us. Perhaps these moments have always been there, but we’re often too busy to notice them.

Finding God’s Love in Everyday Life

Then a leaf fell to the ground, and guess what? A heart-shaped leaf. Woaah! Even nature confirms that He loves me.

To my amazement, I stopped and stared at the leaf, then looked around. I saw kids walking on their way to school, adults heading to work, and some people on their way home bringing their groceries. Then I realized that the heart-shaped leaf wasn’t just for me — it was for everyone, for every single human being existing on this planet.

Sometimes We’re Too Busy to Notice God

He loves us so much that He lets the sun shine for us every day. He gives us free air so we can breathe. Then I realized that God loudly speaks His love to each one of us in every way and at all times, but sometimes we are just too busy to recognize it. We are busy with work, school, chores, and many other things in this physical world.

Maybe experiencing more of God’s presence doesn’t always require something extraordinary. Sometimes, we simply need to slow down enough to notice.

God’s love can meet us in a quiet morning, a conversation with someone we love, the beauty of creation, an answered prayer, or even the strength He gives us to get through an ordinary day.

These moments may seem small, but they can become gentle reminders that God is present in our everyday lives.

God’s Love Isn’t Just for Me

I didn’t take a picture of the fallen leaf and went home to prepare for work. Later, I realized that I had to take a picture and tell everyone about all of this — that’s why I’m posting it here. Everyone should know that God loves each one of us. No one is an accident. You are special and loved by the Creator of the universe.

So I went back outside and saw more heart-shaped leaves. Awesome! He is showering His love on us more than we ever realize.

Loved by God, Called to Love Others

Now that we know He loves us, we ought to love one another. This is easier said than done, but just imagine if everyone walked in love and reflected the heart of the Heavenly Father.

Yes, this is still a work in progress.

And perhaps one of the best ways we can respond when we begin noticing God’s love around us is by allowing that love to flow through us to others.

1 John 4:19 means: “We love because He first loved us.”

The more we recognize how deeply God loves us, the more we can learn to reflect that love to the people around us.

So today, slow down for a moment. Look around you. Pay attention to the things you normally overlook. You may be surprised by how many reminders of God’s love in everyday life have been there all along. So my friend, think about it… and I’m sure His love will sweep you off your feet more than any romantic movie we have seen on TV.
